About Me

The above work has been created in Athens School Of Fine Arts postgraduate department studios,  in the year 2010 and onwards. They are painting works of large and small scale made of a specific mixed technique of acrylics and pigments.
This painting practice is an attempt to transform the enlighten forms from ethereal shapes to solid forms.
I intend to materialize the light as substance at this specific fugitive moment when it touches the subjects, renders the shapes, then gets the form of things or bodies. It becomes then autonomic and discomposed as a solid material, hallucination of the cosmic. It becomes so a mold out of ex vivid forms enabling so the poetic process to create a reversed vision. This painting is an attempt to compose the discomposed illuminated shapes and form the corpus of my painting story telling.
This manner of making images gives me the possibility to drag the subject, by means of fossilized illuminations multiplying its presence in space.
The space of the night world and the dominant confusion of the darkness, the luminous shows, cult religious icons of any kind, consists the conceptual web of on which the narrative construct of this work is evolved.
At the same time, I am concerned to create a visual language which corresponds to the virtuality theoretical scheme, in virtus – not in action, as facing its multiple applications in aesthetics.
I was born in 1962 in Crete, Greece, and was educated at Athens School of Fine Arts.
